ABC wanted to tease the new season of American Idol and show the journey of a contestant from their living room to the audition room. Tom shot it as a point of view of the contestant to really make everyone watching have that really of excitement and nerves. THey shot over 2 days, during a forest fire, which meant lots of sky clean up. Tom only had 10 minutes to shoot with Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan in between audiences.
